When annual statistics or information are updated, previous years information is identified as Archive in the title at the top of the page. And, under most conditions, the substantive content of these archive pages will never change and the Last Updated date serves as the publication date for the information on that page.

It should also be noted all the pages on this web site have a Last Updated date at the bottom of the page. Many of the pages have not been updated for long periods of time; however, the content is still the most current available on the web site and not marked Archive until it is supersede by more current information. When important, dates of individual sections of the pages are identified with a Current through (Date) to ensure the reader knows exactly when the last update for that specific information was made. The individual Subchapters of the Surface Mining Law regulations are a good example of this dating within a single page.

All pages are reviewed annually and those no longer needed or obsolete are deleted.
