Bond Calculation Software
|
While the most recent version of the Office of Surface Mining Bonding Handbook (April 2000) was being rewritten, the authors determined that an electronic bond calculator should be developed to be used with the Handbook. The bond calculator software developed by Gary McIntosh, a former Office of Surface Mining employee, was designed to be used with the Office of Surface Mining Bonding Handbook Worksheets, and along with the handbook, assumes users have some background in standard engineering cost-estimating procedures to develop site-specific costs for each reclamation activity.
The software can be used on a network or stand alone Personal Computer's and will run under windows 95, windows 98, or NT operating systems. It requires 8 MB of ram and 15 MB of space for the program files. The empty database files require 400K of disk space. The amount of information you can store in the database is limited by the size of your storage device.
Both a HELP section and a TUTORIAL is included with the software; however, training can be provided on a one-to-one basis or in a classroom setup as needed. For questions, contact Karen Jass (303) 844-1400 X 1456, e-mail: kjass@osmre.gov, or Gene Hay (303) 844-1400 X 1455, e-mail: ghay@osmre.gov, in the Western Regional Coordinating Center, Denver, Colorado
The software is downloaded in Zip format. After downloading the file, unzip it, and run "BONDINST.EXE" to install the software on your computer.
