             OSM AWARDS WYOMING $1,977,811 TO ASSIST
           IN REGULATING SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING

     The Interior Department's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement (OSM) has awarded Wyoming a $1,977,811 grant to help the
state regulate the surface effects of coal mining.
     The grant will assist in paying Wyoming's inspection and
enforcement costs, including equipment, supplies, and transportation.
