	OSM AWARDS NEW MEXICO $715,787 TO ASSIST
	IN REGULATING SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING

The Interior Department's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and 
Enforcement (OSM) has awarded New Mexico a $715,787 grant to help the 
state regulate the surface effects of coal mining.
The grant will assist in paying New Mexico's inspection and enforcement 
costs, including expenses for equipment, supplies, and transportation.
