	OSM AWARDS ILLINOIS $2,773,954 TO ASSIST
	IN REGULATING SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING
The Interior Department's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and 
Enforcement (OSM) is providing Illinois a $2,773,954 grant to help the state 
regulate the surface effects of coal mining.
The grant assists in paying half of Illinois= inspection and enforcement 
costs, including equipment, supplies and transportation.
