                OSM AWARDS NORTHERN CHEYENNE TRIBE $32,895
                TO REGULATE SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING
                                     
The Interior Department s Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement (OSM) is providing the Northern Cheyenne tribe with a
$32,895 grant to help regulate the surface effects of coal mining on tribal
lands in Montana.
The grant assists in paying half of the Northern Cheyenne s
inspection and enforcement costs, including equipment, supplies and
transportation.
