                 OSM AWARDS ALABAMA $769,358 TO
                                
            REGULATE SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING

    The Interior Department's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) is
providing Alabama with a $769,358 grant to help the state regulate the surface effects of coal mining.

    The grant will assist in paying Alabama's inspection and enforcement costs, including equipment,
supplies and transportation.
