How To Become and OSM/VISTA Watershed Sponsor

    Sponsors at work.
    Sponsors at work.
The Watershed Team partnership between OSM and VISTA contains two basic tenets:  VISTA fights poverty and builds capacity.  OSM fights Acid Mine Drainage in the watersheds of coal country.  Both agencies seek to work with watersheds and sponsors where the individual OSM/VISTA can make a real difference. Be certain that OSM/VISTAs are not substitute staff.  Their position is to assist and support the efforts of their sponsor organization.  Qualifying watershed groups must be a non-profit organization or be sponsored by a local non-profit such as a Resource Conservation and Development
District, a local historical society, or a Soil and Water Conservation Service.
