Virtual Public Briefing Regarding Guidance on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Abandoned Mine Land Grant Implementation

Date

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement will conduct a virtual public briefing to inform public comments on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law draft Abandoned Mine Land Guidance Document.

The draft guidance provides instructions to eligible states and the Navajo Nation on how to apply for fiscal year 2022 AML grants under the law. It also provides guidance to applicants to ensure that activities funded under the program are putting people — especially current and former coal miners —to work protecting the environment, investing in disadvantaged communities, and safeguarding taxpayer money in a transparent and responsible manner.

The virtual public briefing will be held via Zoom from noon – 2 p.m. ET on June 9, 2022Registration is required to attend.

In addition to this and other virtual public briefings to help inform any changes on the guidance moving forward, comments can be emailed to getinfo@osmre.gov by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 13, 2022.
